Florence Houston

Florence Harriott Houston, age 97, of Urbana, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 10, 1919 to the late Charles and Stella Fargo in Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to her parents, Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Warnock Houston; an aunt, Lindsay Greene; and a sister-in-law, Janet Thackery.
She is survived by her children: Sharon (William) Lea, Michael (Marilyn) Houston, Mark (Jean) Houston, Jeffrey (Carol) Houston and Eric (Barbara) Houston. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Courtney, Johnathon, Jason, Taylor, Lindsay, Samantha, Megan, McKenzie, Danielle, Andi, Kelsi Houston and Brian and Thomas Lea; great-grandchildren, Tyler Shattuck and Jewels Houston.
Florence was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Red Cross. She also was a certified and registered Air foreman.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Walter & Stowe Funeral Home, Urbana. Burial to follow at Oak Dale Cemetery.
