Ernestine Simpson

Ernestine Simpson, of De Graff, died on Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the Dayton VA Medical Center. She was born October 23, 1942 in Westville, a daughter of Ernest and Maude (Johnson) Watkins. Ernestine a 1960 graduate of Graham High School enjoyed fishing, crocheting, reading puzzles, games and especially spending time with her family, always getting in the last word. Survivors include her children; Kent Watkins and fiancée Amy of Sidney, Deanna McKnight of De Graff, Pam Mandell and her husband Joe of San Antonio, TX, Vincent J.J. Simpson, Jr. and his wife Christy of De Graff, Vonda Simpson and her life partner, Tiffany of Bellefontaine; step daughter Jackie Burdiss of Sidney, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters; Pearl Thackery of ME, Mary Ann Couch of Columbus Grove, OH, Martha Reed and her husband Dick of KY, Ethel Powell and her husband Jim of Urbana; brothers Ernie Watkins and his wife Maureen of West Liberty, and David Watkins of Sidney. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years Vincent J. Jack Simpson, Sr. on Feb. 7, 2014; son Kevin and an infant son; and brothers Frankie and Jonathan The family will receive friends from noon-2:00 P.M on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St, Urbana, where the services will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Lillibridge officiating. Burial will follow in Nettle Creek Cemetery.
