Emerson Wayne Pence, age 64, passed away on December 28, 2021 in Urbana, Ohio. He was born on June 3, 1957 in Georgetown, Ohio to the late G. Ione Pence.
Emerson, aka Big E, made an impression on everyone he met. Everybody liked him, and everywhere we went people would greet him by name. Emerson had a very special relationship with his aunt Kathleen. He loved and respected her and enjoyed visiting her, getting her cards, and talking to her on the phone. He liked living at his Oakland Street home and enjoyed the company of his roommates and of course the staff, all of whom had a unique relationship with him.
Emerson had the most beautiful smile; it lit up the room, and even when he was grumpy, he was loveable. Emerson loved Semi trucks. He would tell everyone that he was a truck driver and would walk out to the end of the driveway every day watching for trucks to drive by. His favorite movie was “The Cannonball Run” – it had all the elements he loved: Humor, Big Rigs and a lot of action. Emerson loved drinking Mountain Dew and never met a hamburger he didn’t like!
