Dorothy P. Brown

Dorothy P. Brown, age 99 of Urbana, better known by everyone as “Grandma”, went on to be with her children on May 17, 2016 in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. Grandma was born to the late Edgar and Grace Riley on April 12, 1917 in St. Paris, Ohio. She was a huge wrestling fan, loved her family, and especially her best friend… her dog, Diesel. Grandma was spunky and stubborn, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Grandma is survived by three children, Hershel “Pete” (Sis) Brown, Margie McCall, and Bob (Carol) Brown; her grandchildren, Joyce (Doug) Gastiger, Brenda (David) Young, Jeffrey, Meagene and Mandy Birt, as well as numerous additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and even great-great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Grandma was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Brown; two brothers, Joe and Pete Riley; and children, Lamona Griffith, Mary Wells, Ed Brown, Jeanette Brown, Freida Fraley, Wanda Brown, Charles Brown, Harold Brown, Tommy Brown, and Richard Brown.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME (642 S. Main St. Urbana, Ohio) where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mutual.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with burial expenses.
