Dorothy Louise Reeves

REEVES, Dorothy Louise age 96 of Urbana, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late James Carmichael and Alma (Greenwade) Worthington. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Reeves Sr.; daughter-in-law, Carolann Reeves; son-in-law, Walter Porter; brother, James V. (Jean) Worthington; and sister, Wynette Carmichael. She leaves behind her three children: James (Laureen) Reeves Jr., Joseph Reeves, and Charlotte Porter; grandchildren: James J. (Tammy) Reeves, Kimbra L. (Charles) Edgerton, Darrell M. (Charita) Reeves, Joseph C. (Shelly) Reeves; Marla (Matrece) Carter; Michael A. (Pam) Reeves and Christopher L. (Becky) Reeves; 10 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; as well as sisters: Sherry Scott and Celestine Carmichael. Dorothy retired from the United States Postal Service after many dedicated years. She was devoted to her faith and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana and St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Toledo. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, golfing and like most females, loved shopping. She was affectionately known as "Nanny" and deeply loved her family. She will be sadly missed. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, July 8, 2023 with a graveside service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's honor to either of her churches and expressions of sympathy are forwarded to her family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com
