Dorothy D. Canter

Dorothy D. Canter, 92, of Springfield, died at 1:05 a.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Eaglewood Village, Springfield. She was born on December 8, 1920 in Clark County, Ohio, the daughter of Philip and Anna (Dean) Jordan. Dorothy was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and a former member of Tremont City United Methodist Church. She farmed alongside her husband for many years. Survivors include many cousins, dear friends and her Eaglewood family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herman L. Canter on April 5, 1992. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a service will be held at 10:30 with Rev. Walter Mock officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Tremont City. Contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to your favorite charity.
