Dorothy Marie Chamberlain

Urbana, Ohio

Dorothy Marie Chamberlain, a beloved resident of Urbana Ohio, passed away in Columbus, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Dorothy was born on January 2, 1930, in Urbana, where she would later become known for her angelic personality and unwavering devotion to her faith, family and friends.

In the late 70s, Dorothy lovingly worked at the Urbana Head Start as a cook, before finding joy in her work at the Urbana Champaign County Senior Center in her later years.

Dorothy was a master organizer of activities and the heart of any gathering. Her late husband's ideas paired with her meticulous planning ensured that everyone around her was entertained and filled with joy. She cultivated a happy home atmosphere where she encouraged her children to always love each other unconditionally. Her home was a hub for family gatherings, a place where cherished memories were made.

Beyond her roles as a wife, mother and homemaker, Dorothy pursued various hobbies and interests. She was renowned for her delectable peanut butter fudge and meringue cookies that brought smiles to many faces. Additionally, Dorothy showcased her talent in painting by entering contests at the Champaign County Fair. Each painting she created held sentimental value as she gifted them all to her family for generations to come.

One of Dorothy's proudest accomplishments was joining Toastmasters in her 70s, where she delighted in giving speeches about her children and grandchildren – a testament to the immense pride she held for her family.

Dorothy leaves behind a loving family who will dearly miss her presence. She is survived by her children David (Myung) Chamberlain, Tony Chamberlain (Jill Skaggs), Steve (Alice) Chamberlain, Cathy Parks (Tom Loveless), Daniel (Moreen) Chamberlain, Larry (Anna Marie) Chamberlain and Troy Chamberlain (Kellie Tolliver), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored their grandma deeply. She is also survived by siblings, Richard (Marge) Kitchen, Bobby (Phyllis) Kitchen, Michael Kitchen (Teresa Applegarth), James (Pam) Kitchen, Betty Bunnell, Mary O'Brien; sister-in-law, Marge Kitchen; and brother-in-law Michael (Peggy) Chamberlain: all of whom will hold onto fond memories of their time with Dorothy.
