Doris Eileen Donahoe

January 27, 1932 — November 16, 2018

Doris Eileen Donahoe, 86, passed away on November 16, 2018 in her home surrounded by her children. Doris was born on January 27, 1932 to Thaddeus Hackman and Josephine Lily (Whiteside) Robison.
She married William (Bill) Alfred Donahoe on September 12, 1953, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1991.
Doris’ greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially attending their activities and sporting events. She was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, attending many football and basketball games all over the United States. Doris not only enjoyed traveling to follow the Buckeyes, but also loved going to various beaches to watch sunsets, and her annual trips to Michigan to pick blueberries. She was a great cook, her talents included baking from scratch, canning jelly and jams, and especially her famous hand dipped buckeyes that were always requested for family weddings and other special occasions. Doris also enjoyed the simple peace of sitting on her porch, watching the kids of the neighborhood play and visiting with friends.
Doris is survived by her four children, Vicki Donahoe, Teresa (Phil) Hill, Betsy Donahoe-Fillmore, and Andrew (Amy) Donahoe, grandchildren Mathew (Erin), Melissa (Rob), Mark (Sarah), Ashlee (Nate), Olivia (Ryan), Kirbie, Marah, William, and Broderick, 14 great-grandchildren, siblings Roger Robison and Judy Horsley, and special sisters-in-law Mary Robison and Connie Robison, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doris was also preceded in death by her siblings Russ Robison, Ralph Robison, Norma Thomas, Wilma Wood, granddaughter Alexai Rose Hill, and son-in-law Michael Fillmore.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4:30p.m. – 8p.m. at WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME-Urbana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Urbana. Burial to follow at Oak Dale Cemetery.
