Donald Wayne Snyder

SNYDER, Donald Wayne passed from this world to the next at 1:29 AM on January 14, 2021, six days short of his 92nd birthday. He was surrounded by his loving family. Don was the son of Charles B. and Lottie (West) Snyder of Urbana, where he lived his entire life.

Don married Doris Ann Bowshier on April 17, 1954. They are the proud parents of four children: Gary Snyder, Karen (David) Cook,Kevin (Debra) Snyder, and Robert (Melissa) Snyder, all of Urbana. Grandchildren include: Wade Snyder, Chad (Sarah) Miller, Cole (Laaci) Miller, Clay (Tana) Miller, Luke Snyder, Matt Snyder, Mark Snyder, and Elizabeth Snyder; great-grandchildren: Bella, Amelia, Scarlet, Wyatt, Logan, and Lily Miller; and nephew, David (Carol) Campbell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Helen Snyder Campbell, and brothers Jay Phillip Snyder and Harry Snyder.

Don graduated from Urbana High School in 1946, and then served a tour in the United States Army. He retired after 40 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was a member of the Urbana United Methodist church for his entire life. Don will be remembered for his love of interacting with people, and for his hard work ethic and his continuous support and encouragement for his family. He will fondly and lovingly remain in our heart until we see him again.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 12:00 PM, officiated by Christopher Dinnell. Don will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery.
