Donald Earl Coon

Donald Earl Coon, age 87, of St. Paris, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, December 03, 2021. He was born on December 19, 1933, in Cable, Ohio, the son of the late Raymond Earl and Stella Pearl (Cartmell) Coon.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Coon, whom he married in October of 2008; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and John Arnold and Melissa and Roger Rutledge; grandchildren, Cyrus (Chris) Arnold and Hannah (Scotty) Price; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Arnold; and sister-in-law, Ada (Richard) Cummins.
He is preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Lillian Coon who passed in 2004; and siblings, Raymond F. Coon, Edna P. Dresen, William L. Coon, Thomas H. Coon and James S. Coon.

Donald was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked for Coon and Sons Construction before starting his own business from where he retired, Coon Spouting. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed wood carving and making stained glass. He always gave freely of himself and knew when to lend a helping hand to his family and friends without being asked. Donald also loved square dancing and round dancing in his free time with his wife Sharon, and together they gained many friends in the dancing community.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11a.m. with viewing one hour prior at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Terre Haute Cemetery.
