Delorus "Dee" June Adams age 83 of Urbana, formerly of Holgate, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday March 28, 2025. She was born on July 13, 1941 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to the late Martha (Adams) Hoffman. In addition to her mother, Dee was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Minet, her husband, Ralph Fifer, daughter Amanda Sue and best friend Pat Burgoon. She leaves behind her loving sister (in-law) Theresa Fifer, cousin, Herb Adams, children, C. Joseph (Lynette) Fifer, Laura (Nathan) Baxter, Robert (Nikki) Fifer, Sara (Rick) Kiehn; grandchildren: Andrew Fifer, Douglas Alf, Nathalie Nation, Robert Kiehn, Anna Kiehn, Samantha Eickhoff, Brittany Fifer, Jocelyn Juliano, Jacob Kiehn, Zachary Kiehn and Emily Kiehn; great-grandchildren: Walter, Arthur, Aiden, Everett, James Jr., Charlotte,Tate, Scarlet, Orion, Grace, Brantley, Mason, Skylar and Genevieve.
Dee was a graduate of Woodward High School, class of 1959 and married her beloved Ralph on November 24, 1960. Dee enjoyed life-long learning and fervently read books of all genres. After twenty plus years of being a librarian she retired from her favorite role as children’s librarian. Dee had the ability to bring smiles to the faces of others by leading children’s programs such as Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls, participating in bunco and book clubs, being the senior center activities coordinator, and faithfully sending cards to shut-ins.
Throughout her life she was a powerful example of love and commitment for her family. Dee consistently put the needs of others before her own. She could always be counted on to gently share her wisdom and knowledge of a life well-lived. She welcomed her family as friends and friends as family, always nurturing herself and others through relationships.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a service to celebrate her life beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Leiker officiating. Dee will be laid to rest at St. Richards Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Champaign County Friends of the Library or Napoleon Public Library as Dee would like everyone to share her love of reading. Also, Dee absolutely loved all fresh cut flowers, if you choose to send flowers for her services, please refrain from potted plants.
