David F. Channell

David F. Channell, 44, of 4611 Cedar Creek Road, Urbana, died, Sunday, August 2, 2015, in Springfield Regional Medical Center, Springfield with family and friends at his side. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 2, 1971, the son of Fred L. Channell and Carolyn (Neer) Trier. He was a graduate of Urbana High School in 1989, a beloved friend and family member. Davey had a love for cattle, farming, sports, close friends and family. He will always be remembered for his gentle soul, huge heart and wonderful smile. He is survived by a father Fred L. Channell and close friend (Leah Shiffer); a mother Carolyn and Walter Trier; sisters, Susie Channell (Richie watts) and Melissa Channell (Rob Watts); nieces and nephews Ashlyn Woodruff (Justin Mayer), Austin Woodruff, Alexis and Alania Lyons; great niece and nephew Gavin and Lilly Ridenour; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: paternal grandfather Frank Channell in 1970, paternal grandmother Esther Channell in 1993, maternal grandfather Ralph Neer in 2006, maternal grandmother Margaret Neer in 2006; and uncle Phillip Channell in 1984. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Walter & Stowe Funeral Home, Urbana where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
