Darlene C. Ferryman

Darlene C. Ferryman, 83, of Urbana, died at 12:20 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 23, 1929, the daughter of Roy and Minnie (Eby) Coakley. Darlene graduated from Broadway High School, retired from Drackett and worked for Wakenhut Security at Honeywell. Survivors include sons, Thurman Ferryman and his wife Dianna of Urbana, William Lance Ferryman of Catawba and Chris Ferryman of Urbana, five grandchildren, Teresa Beverly and her husband Kyle, Rachel Byrd and her husband Carlos, Tyler Ferryman and his wife Sasha and Haylee and Abigail Ferryman, five great-grandchildren, Joe, Dylan, Laila, Veronica and Liam, brother, Jack Coakley and his wife Patsy of Clearwater, FL, brother-in-law, Bob Predmore of Marysville, numerous nieces and nephews and special caregiver, Tammy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William T. Ferryman on Nov. 2, 2004, sisters, Joanne Predmore and Maxine Purdy, and three brothers, Neil “Bud”, Kenneth and Paul. Family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. with Linda Stevenson officiating.
