Danny F. Chester

Danny F. Chester, 73, of Urbana, died at11:00 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2012 in his residence. He was born February 13, 1939 in Champaign County, a son of Ralph “Sonny” and Maxine (Miller) Chester. Danny was a 1957 Salem High School graduate, attended Kingscreek Baptist Church, retired from Grimes Honeywell and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially participating in the Bullseye Pistol Shooting Competition where he received an expert classification; he helped form the Champaign County auxiliary sheriff’s department. Survivors include his wife Pamela (Blanton) whom he married March 20, 1965, daughter Jill (Greg) Dean of London, OH, son Ralph Chester of Urbana, OH, grandchildren Aimee (Lemieux) and husband Jacob Snyder of Westerville, OH, Lexi and Audrey Dean of Avondale, AZ, great grandchildren Sarah and Sophia Snyder of Westerville, OH, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janet (Tim) Todd of Urbana, OH, Judy (Roger) Fellers of Suwanee, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul B. Chester. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 2 followed by a memorial service at 6:00 P.M in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana.
