Christopher Siferd

Christopher Siferd, age 63, of Springfield, passed away in his home on January 8, 2023. He was born on April 23, 1959, the son of Joe P. and Barbara Ann (Balmer) Siferd.

Chris is survived by his father, Joe Siferd; his beloved wife of 13 years, Melissa (Patten) Siferd; son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Melissa Siferd; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeffery and Debbie Siferd, Terry Siferd and Rodney Siferd; three nieces; and close friends, Kevin Haney and Johnny Campbell. Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Siferd and an infant sister.

After graduating from high school, Chris joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 12 years. Upon leaving the service, he began working at Navistar and retired after 26 dedicated years. Chris loved being outdoors and everyone who knew him, could attest to his passion for fishing and hunting. If you found Chris indoors, usually it would be because Nascar was on or he was getting ready to take his prized 71’ Nova out for a spin or to meet his fellow members of the Urbana Cruisers Club.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11a.m at St. Mary Catholic Church, Urbana Ohio. Viewing will be held on Saturday January 14, following the service, at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana, Ohio from 1:30p.m.-3:30p.m. Military honors will begin at 3:30p.m. Condolences may be expressed to his family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com.
