Carolyn P. Evans

Carolyn P. Evans, age 81, of Urbana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 5, 2022. She was born on July 30, 1940, in Mayfield, Georgia, the daughter of the late George Sr. and Garrie (Battle) Harper. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Walker Evans in 1992; step-son, H. Allen Evans; siblings, Linda Thomas, Earlean Blackwell and George Harper, Jr.; and brother-in-law, John Blackwell. She is survived by her children, Anita Evans, Hope (Lamar, Sr.) Embry, Yvette Evans and Tyson J. Evans; grandchildren, Lamar Embry, Kiersten Embry, Willard “Danny” (Tenika) DeArmond III, Nicholas (Erica) Perrin and Kyle (Genesis) Perrin; sister, Nina Harper; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sarah Janet Seward and Delores Embry. Carolyn was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a contractor for many years. She was a member of the St. John Baptist Church, Red Hat Society and Eastern Star where she had many friends who loved and adored her. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 12p.m.-1p.m. at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home with a celebration of her life beginning at 1p.m. She will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield.
