Calvin Edward Ziegler, a remarkable man known for his joyful laugh and soft spoken nature, has left us with heavy hearts. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 16th, 2023 in Urbana, Ohio.
Calvin was born on December 25th, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, a place that would forever hold a special place in his heart. He was the son of the late Edward and Gladys (Nyberg) Ziegler.
After completing thirty years of service at Bundy Baking Solutions, Calvin retired to cherish more precious moments with his loved ones and dedicate time to his hobbies and interests. He possessed an exceptional intellect and had the ability to manufacture anything mechanical. His talent was admired by many as he transformed ideas into reality effortlessly.
Throughout his life, Calvin was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in hunting and embraced the beauty of nature. His passion for aviation led him to become an enthusiast in the field. But no matter where life took him, his heart always belonged to the mountains back home.
Another passion that fueled his curiosity was everything related to NASA - Rocketry and the illustrious history of space exploration.
Calvin's warmth radiated through his love for animals, particularly dogs. The unconditional love he shared with them brought immeasurable joy into his life.
Calvin leaves behind a legacy that will be carried forward by his loving wife of 45 years, Janice (Parker) Ziegler. Their bond was unbreakable, and their unwavering support for each other set an inspiring example for all who witnessed it. Together, they created a nurturing and loving environment for their children.
Calvin was a devoted father to Carolyn (Kevin) Parker and their children, Daniel and Josh, Annette (John) Tobin and their children, Thomas, Courtney and Kristen, Shawn (Melanie) Ziegler and their children, Evan and Charli, and Rich (Lauren) Ziegler and their children, Peyton and Jett. In addition to his immediate family, Calvin is survived by his sisters, Shirley Wright and Patty Brown.
On December 29th, 2023, friends and family will gather to pay their respects at the North Lewisburg Methodist Church located at 124 Maple St, North Lewisburg, Ohio. The visitation will take place from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM followed by a memorial service beginning at 5:30 PM.
