Bobby Leon Cassell, 77, of Urbana, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 in his residence.
He was born on December 5, 1938 in Lawrence County, KY, a son of Edford and Monnie (Hayes) Cassell. He was previously employed as a meat cutter for McInturff’s Meat Center and self-employed as a farrier. He was also a member of Forrest Valley Freewill Baptist Church.
Bobby enjoyed hunting and trapping, restoring antique vehicles and working in general, even if it was just in his garage. He especially loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 59 ½ years , Beverly Jean (Cottrill) Cassell; a son, Robert Lee (Melinda) Cassell; grandchildren, Lindsay Jean (Kevin) Douce, Joshua Lee (Johnna) Cassell, Jennifer, and Kelsey Salyers; and great-grandchildren, Brian, Dylan, Brianne, Kaitlyn and Casey Watkins, Karmen Salyers, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Jean (Cassell) Engle; and son-in-law, Roy Engle.
Family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Del Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, West Liberty.
