Billy Eugene Freeman Sr.

Billy Eugene Freeman Sr., age 85 of Urbana, Ohio passed away on December 19, 2024 at the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1939 in Otway, Ohio, the son of the late Othel Darrell Freeman and Ruby Reed. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Alice (Judy) Freeman, children, John D. Freeman, Billy Eugene Freeman Jr., Suzanne (Stephen) Borton, and Kimberly S. Glover, grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, Caitlin, and Alexis, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Aiyden, Abrym, Lydia, Cameron, and Lennox, sister, Peggy Neher, nieces, Debbie, Becky, and Mishelle, nephew, Darrell, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Jerry, step-mom, Lona, and step-siblings, Glenn, Sarah, and Betty.

Bill was a devoted family man who loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, reading, and spending time working outside and in his garden. He enjoyed flowers and grew the best tomatoes. Bill was involved in the AA program for over 27 years where he made lifelong friendships. He spent many years working as a painter until he retired and passed the torch to his son, Bill Jr. Bill’s family knew Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday and he was blessed to spend this year with his loving family. The grandkids loved his famous homemade noodles and were always asking for them whenever they had the chance. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love him. 

Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home, Urbana. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, also at the funeral home.
