Beverly J. Martin

Beverly J. (Clickner) Martin, age 81, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana. She was born on September 18, 1934 in Washington Court House to the late Chester and Martha (Goldsberry) Clickner. Early in life, Beverly worked as a secretary. She then met Ray Martin, whom she married on October 2, 1958 and Beverly devoted her life to caring for her beloved family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Beverly enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets, camping, fishing, reading, puzzles, cooking, and going to the casino to play the slot machines. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and her dog Jackie. Beverly is survived by sons, Michael Martin and his wife Karen of Urbana, Jay Martin and his wife Jolie Lewis of Marion, VA, Scot Martin of Urbana; daughters Tammy and her husband Jody Wisecup of Hilliard, Kim Mahoy of Bellefontaine, Lisa Salyer and her husband Loren of Cable; grandchildren, Sheena Miller and husband Pastor James Miller, Katy Morse and husband Eric, Dustin Gantz and wife Kelly, Jared Martin and wife Jayne, Alan Wisecup and Miranda Thomas, Lance Salyer and wife Natalie, Lindsey Salyer and Nate Reinhardt, Gabby Mahoy, Caden Martin, Elise Martin; great-grandchildren Levi Miller, Allison Miller, Zane Salyer and Roy Wood; sister Belinda Merriman of Washington Court House; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years Ray L. Martin; son Jeff Martin; daughter Pamela Jo Martin; sisters Betty Grant, Brenda Williams, Joanne Newman, Beatrice Stabler, and Bonnie Day; brothers Jim Clickner, Francis Clickner and Donald Clickner. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, and Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. also in the funeral home, where the services will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor James Miller officiating. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Community Mercy Hospice for their kindness and care given to Beverly.
