Betty Jene May

Betty Jene (Blair) May, 83, of Urbana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in her residence. She was born on June 19, 1930 in Paintsville, KY, the daughter of Curtis and Dixie (Blair) Blair. Betty accepted Christ at the age of 13 and was a member of Faith Fellowship Church, Urbana. Her example of Gods love was shown to anyone she met. She had a beautiful spirit and her smile was contagious. She was a great cook, enjoyed flowers and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Hager W. May, who she married Dec. 26, 1944; daughters, Lois Horsley and husband Ronald, Fran Cohn and husband Robert and Judy Barger and husband Keith, all of Urbana; grandchildren, Todd Horsley, Chad (Colleen) Cohn and Emily Cohn Jordan, all of Urbana, Matthew (Julie) Grimes of St. Paris and Christopher (Rikki) Grimes of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Blake & Ty Horsley, Hailey, Katelyn, Cara and Brody Cohn, Mackenzie & Seth Jordan, Cole & Chandler Grimes, and Tanner & Adri Grimes; sisters, Irene (Robert) LeMaster and Sue (Charles) McLaughlin, all of Urbana, and Janet (Robert) Jones of Cable; brothers, Jess (Claudia) Blair of Springfield and Samuel (Judy) Blair of Urbana; sisters-in-law, Almedia Blair, Barbara Ratliff, Martha (Raymond) Blair, Rosie Blevins and Carolyn Blair, all of Paintsville, KY, and Peggy Baldwin of West Liberty; and brother-in-law, Gene (Fern) May of Paintsville, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patty; brother, Burnett Blair; sister-in-law, Berea May; and brother-in-law, Henry May. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. A service will be held at Faith Fellowship Church, Urbana, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 with Pastor Roger Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Clifton Union Cemetery, Clifton, OH.
