Audrey J. Strickler

Audrey J. Strickler, 90, of Urbana, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Hearth & Home of Urbana.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 in the Oak Dale Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Urbana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hearth & Home of Urbana Activity Fund, 1579 E. State Route 29, Urbana, OH 43078 or to Kindred at Home/Hospice, 7887 Washington Village Drive, Dayton, OH 45459.
Audrey was born on September 1, 1925 in Findlay, OH. She attended Findlay College and graduated from The Ohio State University with an Art Education degree. She married Lester E. Strickler on September 15, 1947 in Findlay, OH. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2001.
Audrey worked many years at McLaughlin Jewelers. She had an inquisitive and creative mind. She was an active member of the Urbana United Methodist Church, the Urbana Food Pantry, and several social groups. She enjoyed painting, interior design work, small building projects, reading, traveling and board/card games.
Survivors include her children (and spouses), David (Jane) of Rock Island, IL, and Jane Tye (Tim) of Bellbrook, OH; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family wants to thank all of the people at Hearth & Home and at Kindred Hospice for the loving care provided to Audrey over the past years.
