Alma I. Neer

NEER, Alma I, age 74 of Urbana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Hearth and Home of Urbana. She was born on February 18, 1947 in Watauga, Tennessee to the late Earl and Gladys (Thompson) Feathers. In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her sisters, Patsy Ruth Pfaff and Carolyn Feathers; brother, Aaron Leroy Feathers; sister-in-law, Sandy Feathers, and nephew, David Feathers. Alma leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert E. Neer; children: Recinda (Mike) Bowshier, Shelly (Brian King) Adams and Hunter Neer; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert (JoAnn) Feathers and Ted (Lisa) Feathers as well as sisters: Margaret (Melvin) Bailey, Lois Smith and Maria Jane Centers. Alma was very active throughout her life and enjoyed playing golf, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. Alma was a member of Urbana Church of Christ where she loved helping people in her community and volunteering with local ministries. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Walter & Lewis Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Her funeral will follow on Tuesday, May 25 beginning at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.
