Alivia Catherine Laird was welcome into the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 29, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Alivia spent her entire life making others happy. Whether it was her contagious laugh, or perfect bald head. As she could always find a way to make others smile. Even though she was only 4 years old, Alivia had an old soul and was wise beyond her years. She was forgiving, loving and compassionate, and had a way of making everyone fall in love with her. Even as Alivia fought her battle with cancer, she never stopped caring for others. Her ability to love was something that came natural to Alivia, and we will carry that with us forever. During Alivia’s short life, she enjoyed many things, but most of all, Liv loved to sing. When she wasn’t singing, you could find her swinging on her swing set or just playing with her dolls. While we will miss seeing her enjoy all of these things, we think of the time we had with her and know how lucky we are to have known such a remarkable person. Alivia leaves behind many caregivers who did everything medically possible to help her fight her disease. Our love and thanks to many of those professionals who became her second family, with special love to Dr. Thomas Gross (Dr. Boots) and Micah from Nationwide Children’s Hopsital. We are so thankful to all of you for what you have given Liv, and the additional time you gave us with her, and her beautiful soul. Since Alivia’s diagnosis at 10 months old, she has had many prayers sent from the Urbana community on her behalf, and for that, we thank you. Alivia is survived by her parents, Culley and Phillip Laird, brother Braedyn, twin sister Mya, maternal grandparents Cathy and Ronald Roseberry; paternal grandparents, Phil and Elia Laird; maternal great grandparents, Rita Culley, and George and Martha Roseberry, all of Urbana; maternal aunt, Sara Roseberry of Chicago, IL; Paternal uncle Matt (Jennifer) Laird of Cedarville and lots of wonderful great aunts and uncles and many many cousins.
