Albert "Al" Merriman

Albert Al Merriman, 88, of Urbana, went to his resting place on Monday, December 7, 2015 in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty. He was born on August 12, 1927 in Mechanicsburg, OH, a son of Albert and Ethel (Bartley) Merriman. Al was a businessman in Logan County for 30 years selling snowmobiles and swimming pools with Pools & Recreation Inc. He loved gardening and going to the farmers market, fishing, and in his younger years, hunting. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Middleton) Merriman; daughters, Candy (Jim) Wissinger, Sherry (Dave) Piatt and Stacey (Robert) Johnston; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Barbara Stotler, Janet Conley and Karen (Kenny) Quick; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Merriman; and 3 brothers, Fred, Robert and Jack Merriman. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mike Grable officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Cable.
